15 Safest and Most Dangerous SUVs

SUVs’ bulkiness is making them some of the safest vehicles on the roads. According to news reports, SUVs are now statistically safer than they were in the past, making riders and drivers in SUVs more likely to survive a crash than those in cars.

Drivers of SUVs have a higher rate of survival in crashes than previous years,  sccording to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. One factor in the drop in fatalities is the widespread availability of electronic stability control systems (ESC), which reduce vehicle rollover rates, according to news reports.
“The rollover risk in SUVs used to outweigh their size/weight advantage, but that’s no longer the case, thanks to ESC,” the Institute’s senior vice president for research, said in a statement.
